Who’s ready for some Third Eye Blind? I remember listening to hits like “Semi-Charmed Life” and “How’s It Going To Be?” on my Discman in late middle school/early high school thinking that these guys totally understood me. Fast forward 15 years later and I’m still thinking the same thing, so you can imagine how excited I was to hear that they are coming to town. You can catch Third Eye Blind at The Paramount on Wednesday, December 9th at 8pm.
Third Eye Blind recently released their first studio album, Dopamine, this past June after six years of hibernation. After listening to the album, I know that break didn’t hurt them. The band’s chemistry and passion for good music resonates through their songs and leaves me wanting more. By maintaining their unique style even as the world of music changes, Stephan Jenkins and co. continue to make strides by capturing the attention of all age groups giving thema multi-generational audience.
I heard the band’s motto for all of their concerts are to live in the moment, and I get the feeling they’ll have a chance to do exactly that by way of direct interaction with the audience. The Paramount’s max capacity of approximately 1,500 people (as compared to 17,000+ at Nassau Coliseum) making it an intimate setting for the band to reach concert goers. Jenkins has stated that the band is “…energized by the exchange with the audience and every night reminds me of how we are all in this together.” Jenkins has also stated to US Magazine, “We’re lucky we have an audience we can engage live, and we can make records on our own terms. I think that’s very difficult for artists today.” I love it when artists recognize how important their fans are!
